A gateway is what turns battery storage into genuine backup power. Without one, a power cut takes your whole house off; with the HomePro fitted between the grid and your consumer unit, the system disconnects from the grid and keeps the house running from the battery, switching over fast enough that nothing in the house reboots.

It is a separate product from the inverter and battery, so it is specified and priced separately — we will tell you at survey whether your consumer unit and the loads you want to keep on make it worthwhile.
